Parent Information: Basketball

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are excited your student has chosen to represent our school as a student athlete (Panther).  As this is a great responsibility and commitment, not only for them but for yourself, we would like to thank you. We recognize that it can be difficult to ensure rides for practices and games.

We at the Spring Glen Jr. High have high expectations of our athletes with regards to attendance, academics and attitude.

Student Athlete Expectations:

Attendance

  • Good attendance at school is required
  • Regular attendance at practices is required (coaches will be consulted)

Academics

  • Academics is a priority in our school; therefore, student athletes are expected to keep up on their school work.

Attitude/Behavior

  • Student athletes are representatives of our school and are required to show respect to coaches, teammates, opponents, and other schools.  We also expect and hold our coaches to this same standard.

Parents/Guardians: PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING

- FIll out the INFORMED CONSENT and PARENT INFORMATION form (check your email)

Call and talk to Mr. Scott (403) 626-3616 (M-W 9:50-10:50 or 3-4pm) (Friday 8:50-9:30)  We are required by the division to have a parent meeting about basketball.  We know that you are busy and feel a short phone call would be more convenient for you. Your student will not be allowed to play until you have had a chance to visit with Mr. Scott.

- Please pay team fees ($130) to Mrs. Demes. You can come into the office or etransfer sgjfees@westwind.ab.ca. There is a $50 dollar deposit for uniforms that will be returned to you once uniforms are returned at the end of the season. We will carry over volleyball unifrom deposits for those students who play both sports.

(Those unable to pay fees before playing need to contact Mr. Barfuss at the school.)

We are very proud of our students and are excited that they are going to represent our school.  Thank you for all you do to support our Panthers and we look forward to seeing you at the games to cheer them on.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mr. Scott at the school.
