Quarter 4 options start April 28

Here are the option choices for the coming semester!
Monday/Wednesday
● Basic Mechanics
o This option class teaches basic car maintenance, including checking fluids,
changing a tire, inspecting fuses, and performing simple upkeep. Students gain
hands-on experience and practical skills for everyday vehicle care.
● Band (Gr. 6)
o This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of music, including
reading sheet music, playing instruments, and understanding rhythm and
melody. This class is required for all grade 6 students in the first 2 quarters.
● Walking/Hiking
o This option class focuses on fitness through walking. Students will explore local
routes around town and occasionally take short hikes just outside of town,
promoting physical health and enjoyment of the outdoors.
● Native Studies
o Students will work with a First Nation liaison to learn about the rich culture and
history of the Blackfoot people.
● Art (Diamond Art)
o This art option class focuses on creating pictures using diamond art kits. Students
will develop patience and attention to detail as they place tiny, colorful gems to
complete sparkling, mosaic-style images.
● Basic Construction
o This option class introduces students to basic construction skills. They’ll learn
how to safely use tools, measure, cut, and build simple projects using wood and
other materials.
Tuesday/Thursday
● Fishing
This option class teaches the basics of fishing, including casting, tying knots, and
identifying local fish. Students will have the chance to practice their skills by
going on actual fishing trips to nearby lakes.
● Artificial Intelligence
o This option class introduces students to the world of artificial intelligence (AI).
They’ll explore how AI works, where it’s used in everyday life, and try out fun,
hands-on activities using AI tools and programs.
● Photo Editing/ Year book
o This option class combines photo editing and yearbook design. Students will
learn to edit photos using digital tools and help create pages for the school
yearbook, capturing memories and telling the story of the school year.
● Greenhouse
o This option class focuses on greenhouse gardening and plant care. Students will
learn how to grow, water, and care for plants while working hands-on in the
school’s greenhouse environment.
● Hot Lunch
o Students will learn how to prepare and serve meals to students in the
school.
● Band (7-9)
○ Students will continue to develop their musical skills. This is for students with at
least one year of foundation in a band instrument.
